Are you planning a honeymoon in the fall and don’t want to risk it being interrupted by a hurricane? If so, this list is for you! I’ve compiled 5 great fall honeymoon destinations that shouldn’t involve evacuation plans and boarded up windows.
- Hawaii-beautiful any time of year and fall is no exception! Hawaii’s high season ends in August, so you will have the added bonus of lower rates and less crowds. Daytime average temperatures hover in the mid 80s, which means plenty of beautiful beach days ahead! Click to see our current Hawaii deals.
- Aruba-direct hits from a hurricane are rare due to Aruba’s location south of the hurricane belt. September-November average temperatures are normally in the mid to high eighties, but prices tend to be much lower than the Winter high season. An internet search of “best beaches to visit during hurricane season” will likely include Aruba at the top of the list! To learn more about our Aruba deals, send me a message here!
- Puerto Vallarta-located on Mexico’s west coast, Puerto Vallarta is one of the safest places to visit in Mexico during hurricane season. Low season rates and less crowded resorts are an added bonus; however, fall tends to bring more rain so expect at least some showers while you’re there. Click to see our current Mexico deals, or send me a message here.
- Sedona, Arizona-if you’re willing to expand your vacation options beyond an oceanfront property, Sedona is an amazing option during the fall Hurricane season. Whether hiking at Cathedral Rock, being pampered at a spa or enjoying nightly fine dining, Sedona offers it all. A quick nonstop flight to Phoenix and a beautiful 2-hour drive north make Sedona an excellent fall honeymoon option. If you’re feeling especially adventurous and looking for a day trip the Grand Canyon is only 2 more hours north of Sedona. To learn more about Sedona honeymoon options send me a message here.
- Banff, British Columbia-Canada in the Fall for a Honeymoon? You might think I’m crazy, but hear me out. Banff holds a spot on many travelers’ bucket lists, but with that comes large crowds and fighting for parking. While you won’t get particularly warm weather visiting Banff in September or October there are benefits. Fall means you’re more likely to find a great deal on a hotel, won’t have to jostle hundreds of others on your hike around the jaw dropping Lake Louise and can still pack your bikini for a dip in the hot tub at the end of the day!
Fall is an awesome time to get married, and I believe it is a great time to honeymoon as well. While you may decide to avoid some of the more common Caribbean islands during hurricane season there are still great options available for any budget. If you’re interested in learning more about any of these destinations or would like help planning your next vacation Contact Me here. It’s always a good time to dream about your next vacation and I’d love to hear from you!
